Project Three: Lomography

First shoot

For my first shoot I wanted to create the scene for which I would be taking photos of the look a like drug substitutes to create my images to remediate. The drugs I choose to illustrate included marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, petroleum and alcohol. 

I creates these different drug look a likes and displayed them on top of a concrete block which I constructed as i found the aesthetic of the concrete effective as it illustrated a nice grunge aesthetic as well as hinder upon that "rock bottom" feeling. 

In the images above you can see the scene I displayed which I then photographed with the lomo camera. The drugs were created with:

Marijuana = dried green tea
Cocaine = grinded paracetamol 
Petroleum = Cranberry redbull
Alcohol = Alcohol 
Ecstasy = creatine pill

 I liked the image in the centre of the weed it works effectively and displays what i am trying to portray

 Images of the smirnoff bottle worked effectively as it is easy to tell what it is opposed to the petroleum image

Once the filmed was developed and I inverted the negatives a lot of the photos were not good as they were too unfocused or there was too much light in the area I took the images,

I will now test different remediations on this film and take a second shoot to try to create more effective images for my final series.
