Genrating Ideas:
For this project we have to deliver a series of images that convey data collection in a aspect. It should be something that is an everyday activity but something we don't notice and express that through photography, to brain storm my idea ill list my daily activities from morning to night in order.
- Wake up (7:00am)
- Shower and brush teeth
- Get dressed
- Eat breakfast
- Drive to uni (Newlands-Wellington)
- Park Vehicle (Tournament parking Merion Square)
- Eat Lunch
- Attend classes and do work including lectures and tutorials
- Leave uni
- Leave car park building with destination being home
- Drive home
- Eat some food
- Change clothes for gym
- Drive to gym (Newlands-Thorndon)
- Train at gym
- Drive home
- Consume Dinner
- Shower
- Do some uni work
- Sleep (11.00pm-12.00am)
Thats my daily routine for most days, from this I can brainstorm things that I could do specifically:
Ideas:
- Something to do with driving as I spend so long in the car, maybe speed, different ways of traveling as in paths, braking, many things to do with vehicles
- Gym, could look at exercise and the time it takes, different exercise and different aspects to specifically look into like heart rate, water consumption, water loss through sweat. For gym I could also look into biomechanics photography looking at movements through exercises
- Eating, looking at different foods consumed, how its consumed
- I could look at the way pedestrians move through space, walk across roads
- I could use a subject like my dogs and observe the way they live and things they do
I think specifically since Im into automobiles I want to look into data regarding this idea, now to think about an aspect I could use for this idea to generate an effective series
After brainstorming for a long time I came up with an idea that could be effective for my series, I want to construct a scene to portray a reaction by someone as well as gather data all together. I want to have subjects which I will get to drive down a straight line, without them know what lies ahead, and then I would throw a ball on the road in front of them without them knowing as I capture images I will see how they react, things that I could gather as data I could measure their heart rate to see how scared they were, how long it took them to brake measuring the distance as well as have a series of funny images to go along with the series of peoples faces as they reacted to the scary situation
